xxx.
for you, my love,
I let the snail creep in,
spiraling past,
he chews my cabbages thoughtfully
as if they were offerings.
I let moss envelop the lawn,
loving the dandelions,
who bob, brighter than sunlight,
on unruly grass.
I scatter apple seeds
like rain,
let the herb garden
tangle itself wild,
rust the pruning shears.
I let the fence rot,
the aphids dance—
let the neighbors talk.
they don't see
what I see:
Love,
richer than order,
wilder than rules,
letting all things grow
free, as they are.
